Overview
Selesnya Landfall took down Standard Challenge 32 on September 28, 2026, and it is the freshest, most aggressive G/W plan in the format right now. The deck ramps out of the gate with Llanowar Elves and Sazh's Chocobo, then turns every land drop into a threat: Mossborn Hydra doubles its counters, Mightform Harmonizer doubles a creature's power, and Earthbender Ascension quietly builds an army out of your own lands.
What makes the list special is how many free land drops it manufactures. Fabled Passage, Escape Tunnel, Shared Roots, Earthbender Ascension and Icetill Explorer all fetch or replay lands, so most turns trigger landfall two or three times. The featured card this week is Mossborn Hydra: a 3-mana trampler that goes 2, 4, 8 with three land drops and ends games out of nowhere.
Full breakdown, decklist, and Arena import below. This is a 60-card, best-of-one and best-of-three friendly build for MTG Arena Standard.

Strategy Guide
Early game (turns 1-2): Lead with Llanowar Elves or Sazh's Chocobo. Both want land drops, so sequence your land after the creature so the trigger counts. Shared Roots on turn 2 is a fine ramp play that also fires landfall. Keep Fabled Passage and Escape Tunnel in hand until you have a creature on board to profit from them.
Mid game (turns 3-4): This is where the deck turns on. Mossborn Hydra on turn 3 followed by any land drop makes a 4/4 trampler on turn 4, and a fetch land plus a land drop makes it 8/8. Earthbender Ascension on turn 3 fetches a basic and starts a quest counter clock, then it earthbends a land into a 2/2 haste body. Icetill Explorer lets you play extra lands each turn and replay them from the graveyard, so Escape Tunnel and Fabled Passage become repeatable triggers. Mightform Harmonizer doubles a creature's power on each landfall, which turns even a Llanowar Elves into a surprise threat.
Late game (turn 5+): Practiced Offense with flashback is your finishing move. Put counters on every creature, then give one double strike or lifelink. Esper Origins is a flexible top-end: surveil 2 and gain 2 early, then flash it back for a saga that reveals a permanent, adds GG, and gives your team +2/+2 and trample. Ba Sing Se earthbends lands into extra attackers when you have spare mana.
Win Conditions and Key Interactions
Primary win condition: a landfall-boosted trampler. Mossborn Hydra with two or more landfall triggers plus Mightform Harmonizer doubling its power is lethal from a mostly empty board.
Key combo: Icetill Explorer plus Escape Tunnel or Fabled Passage. Sacrifice the land, replay it from the graveyard, and repeat for every extra land drop you have. Each cycle triggers Hydra, Chocobo, Harmonizer and Ascension.
Backup plan: Practiced Offense wide with double strike. Because the deck rarely holds back blockers, one flashbacked Offense can end the game from 20 life.
Removal: Erode is a premium one-mana answer. Note that it gives your opponent a basic land, so save it for the threat that matters. Sheltered by Ghosts out of the sideboard both removes a blocker and puts lifelink and ward on your best creature.
Sideboard Guide
Against aggro (Boros Dragons, Mono-Black): bring in Doorkeeper Thrull and Sheltered by Ghosts for lifelink and a flying blocker. Consider trimming Shared Roots.
Against Izzet Spellementals and other decks leaning on creature enter-the-battlefield value: Torpor Orb and Doorkeeper Thrull shut off those triggers. Your own landfall triggers still work because they care about lands entering, not creatures,
Against control (Dimir, 4c Control): Surrak, Elusive Hunter can't be countered and draws cards when targeted. Captain America, Super-Soldier gives hexproof to you and other Heroes, and Clarion Conqueror shuts off activated abilities of artifacts, creatures and planeswalkers, which can blank planeswalkers and equipment. Be aware it also hits your own Ba Sing Se activation and creature abilities, so deploy it deliberately.
Against Mono-Green Landfall mirror: Erode and Sheltered by Ghosts matter most. Clarion Conqueror is strong if their key engines are activated abilities.
Budget Notes
Paper premium estimate: roughly $230 for the main deck at current cheapest-printing prices, before sideboard. The most expensive cards are Icetill Explorer (about $22), Mossborn Hydra (about $15), Hushwood Verge (about $8), Erode (about $7) and Ba Sing Se (about $5 each).
Budget swaps that keep the plan intact: (1) Cut Icetill Explorer for a cheaper creature such as Surrak, Elusive Hunter; you lose the extra land drops but keep the tempo. (2) Replace Hushwood Verge with a Forest or Temple Garden. (3) Swap Ba Sing Se for Forest or Fabled Passage. (4) Use Sheltered by Ghosts in the main deck in place of a copy of Erode for cheaper interaction. (5) Trim Mossborn Hydra to two copies and add Mightform Harmonizer plus Llanowar Elves to keep the curve low. On Arena, wildcard cost matters more than dollars: the rare slots are Icetill Explorer and Mossborn Hydra, so prioritise those.
