Mark your calendars — or don’t, because it already happened. Today, Cyberpunk TCG: Welcome to Night City hits full retail release, officially ending the long road from Kickstarter campaign to Beta Events to Pre-release weekends and landing the game on store shelves everywhere. If you’ve been curious about Night City’s new card game but held off waiting for “the real thing,” this is it. Let’s break down what launch day actually means and what’s coming next.
New to Night City? Here’s the 60-second rundown
Cyberpunk TCG is built around Legends — big, swaggering characters pulled straight from Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, from street mercs to corpo fixers to full-blown cyberpsychos. Each Legend anchors your deck and defines your playstyle, kind of like a commander in other games. From there you build out your crew with Units (the people and machines doing your dirty work), Programs (hacks and tech tricks), and Gear (weapons and cyberware that make your Units hit harder). Everything is paid for out of a RAM budget, which forces you to balance flashy plays against what you can actually afford to run — very on-theme for a game about chrome, cred, and consequences.
If none of that made sense yet, don’t worry — that’s exactly what today’s launch is for. Full retail means Welcome to Night City boosters, starter decks, and the Retail Edition booster displays are now sitting on shelves at local game stores everywhere, instead of being locked behind Kickstarter pledges or limited Beta allocations.

What’s actually new in the Retail Edition
The Retail Edition isn’t just a reprint of the Beta cards players saw at September’s sealed events. According to ICv2’s breakdown of the release, the Retail Edition booster displays (24 packs, 12 cards per pack) include brand-new cards plus 31 exclusive alternate-art Iconic Rares that are different from the ones that circulated during Beta — so even players who cracked Beta boxes back in September have new chase cards to hunt. Pre-release kits (6 packs, 3 Legends, a promo, and dice) have been available at participating stores since the Pre-release weekend on October 30, and WeirdCo is rewarding stores that stock up — buy two cases of Pre-release kits, get a free Retail Edition display.
Publisher WeirdCo has also been busy getting the storefront side ready. Their official store locator now lists more than 3,000 game stores worldwide signed up as retailers or Organized Play locations — so if you’re ready to dive in, there’s a very good chance a “Night City Gauntlet” is running near you. Starting now that full retail product is out, stores are kicking off weekly Night City Brawls — casual-to-competitive constructed events with exclusive promo packs up for grabs — along with periodic Night City Showdowns, bigger in-store tournaments with full-art champion variants and playmats on the line.
The first Edgerunner Open Regionals are official
Launch day comes with a genuinely big competitive announcement: WeirdCo has locked in the first two Edgerunner Open Regionals, the game’s premier in-person events. Chicago runs December 11–13 at McCormick Place with a 2,048-player cap, and Warsaw follows January 30–31, 2027 at Warsaw EXPO XXI with room for 1,536 players. Both are Constructed Best-of-Three with multiple days of Swiss rounds feeding into single-elimination brackets.
The prize structure leans hard into the game’s Legend-building fantasy: players rank their three Legends in priority order on their decklist, and top finishers earn serialized promos of their highest-ranked Legend as they climb the standings. Day 2 qualifiers get a stamped Muamar Reyes, Top 64 a stamped Dexter DeShawn, Top 32 a stamped V: Streetkid, and Top 16 a stamped Judy Álvarez — with Top 8 finishers walking away with a serialized Lucyna Kushinada promo that isn’t printed anywhere else. Chicago’s second ticket wave opens November 4, and Warsaw’s first wave opens November 11, both through Melee.

What’s on the horizon
All of this is still just set one. WeirdCo already confirmed Set Two, Edgerunners: Burn Bright, is coming in Spring 2027, pulling characters and cards straight from the Netflix anime — so Welcome to Night City has a long competitive life ahead of it before the next expansion even lands. For now, though, today is about the game simply being available — no Kickstarter pledge, no Beta Event signup window, just a booster pack off a store shelf.
Whether you’re picking up your first starter deck this weekend or you’ve been grinding Beta sealed events since September, full retail launch is the moment Cyberpunk TCG stops being a preview and starts being a game anyone can walk into.
