The wait is almost over. WeirdCo and CD PROJEKT RED’s Cyberpunk TCG: Welcome to Night City hits general retail on November 6, closing the loop on an Alpha-and-Beta rollout that’s been running since the game’s record-breaking Kickstarter. Prerelease events ran this past weekend (October 30–31) at shops around the world, and the full Retail Edition Booster Displays ship to stores in just a few days. If you’ve been sitting on the sidelines waiting for a street-legal way to jump in, this is the week.

What’s actually changing at retail

Retail Edition booster displays carry 24 packs of 12 cards each, same as Beta, but the headline change is cosmetic and it’s a big one: the set ships with 31 exclusive alternative-art Iconic Rares that are completely different paintings from the ones Kickstarter backers pulled in Beta. WeirdCo isn’t just reprinting the Beta chase cards — artists were brought back in to reinterpret the same characters from scratch. Adam Smasher: Metal Over Meat is the clearest example: the Beta version (Toni Infante) is a wide shot of an armored giant stomping out of a burning skyline, while the Retail version (Łukasz Poller) is a blood-spattered close-up on his chrome skull. Same card number, same character, completely different vibe on the cardboard.

Prerelease kits are the other piece of this: 6 packs, 3 Legends, a limited promo, and dice per kit, with 8 kits to a case. Stores that buy two cases get a free Retail booster display thrown in, which is a solid incentive to watch for if your local shop (or your favorite online storefront) is stocking up for launch week.

Chasing the Iconic Secrets

For collectors, the cards to watch are the Iconic Secrets at numbers 168 through 171: Johnny Silverhand (Rocking Renegade), Sasha Yakovleva (Won’t Let You Down), Panam Palmer (Strength Through Family), and Judy Álvarez (Nothing to Doubt). These get the full premium treatment — silver cold-foil nameplates and extra Precision Vectorized Texturing that the lower rarities don’t have — and since every Legend in the set gets both a standard Iconic print and, for the biggest names, a Secret Iconic version, Johnny is shaping up to be the chase card of the Retail run the same way he was in Beta. Worth noting: Legends that only come in starter decks don’t get a booster-pack Iconic at all — their premium versions only show up as Nova Rare box toppers or Edgerunner Open tournament prizes, so pulling one from a pack means it came from a true booster Legend slot.

Looking past launch week

WeirdCo also confirmed the game’s second set, Edgerunners: Burn Bright, is targeting Spring 2027 in English and French (Chinese to follow). It’s built around the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime and lines up with the show’s second season landing on Netflix, bringing David, Lucy, Maine, and the rest of the crew into cardboard form alongside a new chase rarity and new mechanics. That’s still a ways off, but it tells you WeirdCo is building Cyberpunk TCG as a long-term format rather than a one-and-done Kickstarter cash-in — good news if you’re deciding whether to buy in at Retail.

For a game that raised nearly $27 million on Kickstarter before a single Retail box existed, this week is the real test: can Welcome to Night City hold a shelf at your local game store the way Magic, Star Wars Unlimited, and the rest of the supported-games lineup do? We’ll be watching sell-through and secondary market prices on those new Iconic Secrets closely over the next few weeks.
