It’s a big week for Cyberpunk TCG. The Welcome to Night City retail launch is now just two weeks away, prereleases for it kick off this coming weekend, and — in a surprise most players weren’t expecting this early — publisher Weird Co. just confirmed the game’s second set. If you’ve been curious about Cyberpunk TCG but haven’t jumped in yet, this is about as good a moment as any to start paying attention.

New to Cyberpunk TCG? Here’s the quick version

Cyberpunk TCG is built by Weird Co. in partnership with CD Projekt Red, set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Instead of a single commander or hero, you build a “crew” led by Legend cards — V, Johnny Silverhand, Goro Takemura, and a growing cast of Night City regulars — who anchor a deck of Units, Programs, and Gear. Games hinge on a resource system called RAM, which caps how much power you can field at once, forcing real trade-offs between going big on one strong card and spreading your crew thin. It’s a fast, aggressive game that rewards reading the board and striking at the right moment.

Welcome to Night City goes fully retail on November 6

After a summer of sealed Beta Events at local stores, Welcome to Night City is making the jump from beta to full retail release on November 6, 2026, with prerelease weekends starting October 30. The Retail Edition isn’t just a straight reprint of the beta cards — each 24-pack booster display adds new cards to the pool along with 31 alternate-art Iconic Rares that are exclusive to this edition and never appeared in the Beta print run, giving beta players a real reason to keep cracking packs.

Prerelease kits follow the format you’d expect from a set launch: six booster packs, three Legend cards to build around, a limited-edition promo, and a die, all in one box. If you’ve never played Cyberpunk TCG and want the easiest on-ramp, a prerelease kit is it — you walk away with a playable crew and a stack of boosters to crack, no prior collection required.

Surprise reveal: Edgerunners: Burn Bright is Set 2

Then, on October 20, Weird Co. used its Creator Invitational livestream to drop news nobody was expecting quite this soon: Cyberpunk TCG’s second set is official, and it’s called Edgerunners: Burn Bright. Rather than continuing to mine Cyberpunk 2077 proper, Set 2 pulls its cast, weapons, Cyberware, and scenes straight from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the Netflix anime from CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger that introduced a huge chunk of the game’s current fanbase.

Weird Co. co-founder Elliot Cook summed up the pitch simply: “The community reception to Cyberpunk TCG has been nothing short of incredible so far,” and the team wants to “deliver something even more exciting” with this second set. Burn Bright is confirmed to arrive at retail in Spring 2027, launching first in English and French with Chinese support to follow, and — true to form for a TCG set launch — local-store prerelease tournaments and pack openings are planned for the week before the full release.

Mechanically, Weird Co. is keeping most of its cards close to the chest for now. We know Burn Bright introduces new gameplay mechanics designed to open up fresh strategies against rival crews, and a brand-new “chase rarity” on top of the alternate-art treatment players already know from the Beta and Retail Editions. Full previews are promised over the coming months, including spoiler segments during the game’s Edgerunner Open Regional broadcasts on Twitch and YouTube.

We do have one confirmed look at the set already, though: the first revealed card is Gloria Martinez: The Future’s Price, illustrated by Mooncolony. Gloria is David Martinez’s mother from the anime — a grounded, human anchor in a set that’s otherwise full of chrome and gunfire — and her reveal art, with David and Lucy watching a rocket launch beneath an enormous moon, is exactly the kind of quiet, emotional beat Edgerunners fans will recognize instantly.

Why this matters right now

Two launches lining up this close together is a genuinely good moment for new players. Jump into a Welcome to Night City prerelease this month, get comfortable with Legends, RAM, and crew-building over the winter, and you’ll be perfectly positioned to chase Gloria Martinez and the rest of the Edgerunners cast when Burn Bright hits shelves next spring. Few TCGs give you this clean a runway between “learn the basics” and “the next big set,” so if Cyberpunk TCG has been on your maybe-later list, now’s the time to move it up.
